At the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, we continue to enhance communication skills in the field of haptic communication.
This learning is important not only for persons with deafblindness, but also for volunteers, personal assistants, and professional staff.
On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, users themselves emphasized that communication barriers are the main obstacles to establishing contact, building relationships, and exercising individual rights.
Within the project The Language of the Deafblind as a Means of Inclusion of People with Deafblindness, funded by the Ministry of Culture, the professional team, in cooperation with users, is striving to further develop the language of the deafblind.
An important part of this development is continuous learning, which opens new opportunities and encourages ideas for creating new haptic signs, thereby expanding the vocabulary.
