In November, the members and employees of the Slovenian Deafblind Association DLAN went on a two-day active retreat to Terme Snovik.
Such moments are incredibly valuable for people with deafblindness, as they help strengthen self-confidence, encourage independence, and expand social networks, which are often limited in everyday life due to communication and mobility challenges.
The connection with nature and the relaxation in warm, healing thermal springs have a positive impact on both mental and physical well-being – something we all need, especially individuals with deafblindness.
Every day, we actively participated in stretching sessions and water exercises, while evenings were spent playing social games, learning new words, and getting to know each other better. The activities were very well received, and participants gladly took part.
Events like this are an important step toward holistic well-being, greater inclusion, and stronger connectedness within the deafblind community.
