The Slovenian Association of the Deafblind DLAN, within the framework of the project The Language of the Deafblind as a Means of Inclusion and Public Awareness, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, had the opportunity to present the artistic works of its members at the Ljubljana City Library (MKL).
The exhibition was also viewed — and touched — with great interest by the Association’s users, as it is extremely important for people with deafblindness to be able to feel art with their hands. Special thanks go to Mrs. Edita Flegar, who made this possible and thus ensured that the exhibition was accessible to everyone.
The Association’s artists are versatile and create using various materials — clay, wood, paper, rope, textiles, nylon, and much more. On display are paintings, flower arrangements, a ship, a church, chalices, vases, napkins, and many other artworks that testify to remarkable creativity.
This exhibition proves that art transcends sound and light — true creation comes from the heart.
Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported the event.
