Lucija Brumec and Anton Polutnik deserve a special mention. It is a truly unique experience to stand on the winner’s podium at any sporting event.
On September 20, 2025, the first-ever 500-meter walking race for people with deafblindness, named “Step by Step Through Darkness and Silence,” took place in Varaždin.
Lucija took first place among the female competitors.
Anton achieved an excellent third place in the men’s category.
They both deserve the warmest congratulations and recognition. Congratulations also to their guides.
Applause, of course, also goes to all the other heroes of the day: Martina, Darinka, Vinko, Zdravko, and Matija. Bravo, team!
We are incredibly proud of you.
