Father Bogdan Knavs has been a supporter of the deafblind community for 20 years. His involvement dates back to before the founding of The Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, when he organized summer camps for deaf children.
He has continuously and voluntarily celebrated Holy Mass and performed liturgical services for people with deafblindness.
We remember his words during the most difficult times:
“This mission must continue. Do not hesitate. Truth prevails. God will help us.”
Every month, he celebrates adapted Holy Masses, listens during conversations and confessions – even without an interpreter – because he speaks the language of the soul and heart.
In addition to all this, he brings something truly priceless: laughter.
His genuine humor, his ease, and his infectious laughter are like medicine for the soul of the deafblind community.
When asked where this deep connection comes from, he simply replies:
“It is a grace.”
As he often says:
“Where laughter is born from joy, there God is closest.”
