“Tina and I attended the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN. On the occasion of the European Day of the Deafblind, we paid tribute to all those who, over the past twenty years, have persistently paved the way toward a more just and inclusive society.
The event was full of emotion and warmth. The stories of people with deafblindness touched me deeply. It was a great honor to spend the evening in your company.
My deepest respect also goes to my wife, Tina, ambassador for the rights of the deafblind, who received recognition at the event for her dedication and heartfelt efforts in advocating for the rights of people with deafblindness.
I am pleased that this week the Draft Act on the Language of the Deafblind is being considered in the National Assembly. With this, Slovenia once again confirms that it is a country that upholds the values of dignity, justice, and inclusion.”
