On Tourist Guide Day, on 21th of February 2023, members of the DLAN Association, accompanied by personal assistants, staff and volunteers, went on a guided tour of Ljubljana, led by a tourist guide and loyal Lions Klub Ljubljana member Mrs. Dunja Olga Bohorič.
We started our tour of Ljubljana at Ambrose Square. The route first led us to the statue dedicated to the victims of the Liberation Front (NOB), which stands in front of the Poljane Gymnasium and Senior Citizens Home. We then headed towards the Church of St. Joseph, the longest church in the Archdiocese of Ljubljana, with the largest dome and the second tallest bell tower. Then we walked to the Sugar Factory – Cukrarna, where Mrs. Dunja presented us interesting facts and told us about its history. We saw the grand interior of the restored premises. We finished our tour of Ljubljana with a presentation of Plečnik’s locks, and then headed back to the DLAN Association.
