For two decades, the Association of the Deafblind of Slovenia DLAN has been developing expertise in the field of deafblindness, writing the story of the language of the deafblind, the respect for touch, and the power of human connection.
Over the years, we have published more than 90 works – books, manuals, brochures, magazines, art catalogues, films, and adaptations in Braille, audio format, Slovenian Sign Language, Easy-to-Read, and electronic formats.
Each publication is a piece in the mosaic of recognizing deafblindness as an independent disability, developing the language of the deafblind, and realizing the right to accessible language for all.
Among the publications are:
– the first scientific books on deafblindness in Slovenia,
– numerous manuals on communication and interpreting,
– collections of stories of people with deafblindness,
– poetry, audiobooks, and films,
– and a rich array of accessible format publications proving that knowledge becomes accessible when we make it accessible.
