On Tuesday, 27 June 2023, Marjana Kenda, a Professional Worker and Coordinator of the Erasmus+ project Learning through Touch, presented her contribution at a conference organised by the Institute for Deaf Studies, Education, Interpreting and Coaching Lingua Signans.

At the hybrid conference, which took place at the European Union House in Ljubljana, the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, the Institute for Deaf Studies, Education, Interpreting and Coaching Lingua Signans and the Deaf Association of Slovenia 14 11 presented their Erasmus+ projects that took place between 2021 and 2023.

Marjana Kenda started her presentation with a brief background on deafblindness and the work of the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN, and then focused on her first experiences with Erasmus+ projects. She gave a detailed presentation of the first Erasmus+ project “Learning through Touch” and briefly talked about the Erasmus+ project “Cross-cultural Project on Deafblindness”, which we are implementing together with the Danish organisation The Specialist Consultancy for the Deafblind at North Denmark Region.

We view the Erasmus+ programme and our two Erasmus+ projects as extremely valuable and important opportunities for learning, growth, development, networking and mutual empowerment; opportunities that allow us to learn from the best experts in the field of deafblindness, and thereby strengthen the profession in Slovenia as well.
