During the regular monthly Holy Mass celebrated at the Deafblind Association of Slovenia DLAN by Father Bogdan Knavs, participants reflected more deeply on their personal growth.
Father Bogdan Knavs invited those present to consider how to enter the Lenten season with the intention of recognizing those attitudes and actions that create greater closeness with others and shape us into better people. During the Ash Wednesday ritual, he emphasized the importance of a humble heart – a heart that accepts differences and, in demanding and seemingly dark situations, chooses patience and compassion.
At the end of the Holy Mass, a personal assistant shared her experience of participating in the 40-day alcohol-free campaign and invited the participants to join her during the month of March. Everyone was encouraged to reflect on how they can take better care of themselves and which habits may contribute to poorer well-being, health, or relationships with loved ones.
Participants received a personal plan in which they will record their feelings and reflections related to their chosen Lenten goal. During the month of March, we will reflect together on what we have learned about ourselves through this experience and how we can maintain new, healthier habits in our everyday lives.
