“My journey with the DLAN Association did not begin intentionally. It began with an interesting meeting and the feeling that some connections in life are not accidental.
When I first heard the word DEAFBLIND, I remembered the story of a boy who lost his sight and hearing due to a firecracker. I thought it was a rare, tragic case.
Then I met Simona. And I understood that it is not an exception—but a community of people who every day show what courage, perseverance, and living with heart truly mean.
Simona once promised that she would never give up. And she did not just keep that promise… something extraordinary grew from it. Over 20 years, the DLAN Association has become a joyful home where people are seen, heard, and accepted. Where creativity, dance, song, and dreams come alive.
Being a DLAN ambassador is a privilege for me. They have taught me:
– how to find the sun even on a gray day,
– how to dare to live your dreams and forget your doubts,
– how to pause,
– and how to listen and see with your heart.
And if you watch the video until the end, you will see what moved me to tears.
Thank you to everyone who builds bridges where there once were walls.
